Hello. I am Hugh William Dichmont, and I am a tiny writer, as illustrated by the actual-size photograph to my right, your left. I write darkly comic scripts, for theatre, TV, film and radio.
In 2019 I won the Bread & Roses Theatre Playwriting Award. My play, Who You Are and What You Do, will be staged at the theatre in Autumn 2020.
My ★★★★★ podcast, The Future History of the British Isles, was reviewed by listeners as "funny and surreal", "fast-moving, weird", and "exposing the cracks of our current political and ideological crisis". Wow, I like that quote. I should put it on my website.
In 2018, my one man stageshow about depression, The War On Terry, was listed by FringeReview as one of their "Top Ten Plays Not to Miss".
Before writing, I had a career as a visual artist, as part of rambunctious artist collective Tether, making collaborative installations and performance events, including a Disco Toilet, which I still miss a bit, but I rent a flat, so that's not really feasible, is it
